BPI-certified compostable plates made from sugarcane fiber (bagasse) and plant-based PLA coating. Breaks down completely within 90-120 days in commercial composting facilities.
Composting Requirement: Requires commercial composting facility - will not break down in home compost bins or landfills at expected rate. Only 4,700+ commercial facilities nationwide accept BPI-certified products (findacomposter.com).
Made from polylactic acid (PLA) derived from renewable resources like corn starch. Ideal for cold beverages at events prioritizing sustainability.
End-of-Life Consideration: PLA requires industrial composting at 140°F+ to biodegrade. Not suitable for conventional recycling. Performance may vary based on beverage type and duration of use.
